Elon University Relations confirms to Phoenix14News that 12 football players have come down with flu-like symptoms.
Dan Anderson, Vice President and Director of University Relations, says the symptoms include a headache and fever. Anderson also says the players will not be tested for the H1N1 virus.
Instead, the players have what officials are now calling “Influenza-Like Illness” or ILI. As a precaution, all players are now having their temperatures taken before practice each day.
Players who have a high temperature will not be allowed to practice.
