Elon launches new Fellows program

Almost 600 potential fellows candidates arrived on campus Friday March 4, for the weekend to compete for 210 fellows positions.
“I think that, in lots of ways, fellows weekend is almost like commencement for admissions, for the campus community, because some of the best and brightest students will be here,” he said.
This year Elon added a new fellows program that will allow 15 more students to be part of the elite group. The International Fellows Program is a program for incoming international freshman who want to make a difference on Elon’s campus.
The program also includes a substantial amount of financial aid, explains Cindy Barr, Zaiser’s co-chair of fellows weekend.
“The scholarships themselves are $3,500 a year, and they each receive a $1,500 study abroad grant,” said Barr.
The International Fellows program is only open to incoming freshman currently, but Barr said he thinks it may be possible for other international students to join later. Elon gave the International Fellows candidates the option of coming to Elon for fellows weekend, but only one student attended, since he was also a candidate for another fellows program.Explore posts in the same categories: News comment below, or link to this permanent URL from your own site.
