Students petitioned and ARAMARK listened.

Phoenix14News told you about the student petition against ARAMARK’s new meal plans several weeks ago.

On Wednesday, Eric Carroll, the petition organizer, sent out a Facebook message telling students about the change.

“ARARMARK has decided to meet us halfway,” Carroll said in the message.

ARAMARK is going to offer a 10-meal plan option in addition to the Basic All-Access plan.

“It will cost the same amount of money as the basic all access but will allow you to still have the diversity you love,” Carroll said.

ARAMARK District Manager Jeff Gazda emailed Phoenix 14 News explaining the change. According to Gazda, some students had already signed up for a meal plan for next year when the changes were made, causing confusion.

“There has been a one year concession approved to offer a choice between the Basic All Access and the former 10-meal plan for all rising second, third and fourth year student,” Gazda said in the email.

Both plans will cost $4,650 for the year.
