Seek and you shall find something fun to do on Elon’s campus.

This weekend students took part in the annual Phoenix Phind scavenger hunt hosted by RSA and the Danieley Area Council. Even though less than ten teams participated this year, the competition remained intense. One team in particular dominated.
Team Domination won the competition by only twelve points making this their sixth time in a row. Their road to victory was paved by numerous tasks that the team had to successfully complete in order to gain points and beat their opponents.

Each team was handed a list of 150 tasks, with each task worth different point values. A picture of someone with an eyebrow shaved off was 10 points, as well as a picture with a rodeo clown. If a team could find a snowflake it was two points. A rainbow was one point and a picture of someone petting a panda would earn them two points.

“It’s not surprising,” said Peter Cooper, one of the team members. “This is the sixth year of domination. We are team domination. We have proven and effective methods in winning Phoenix Phind. We hope to continue the legacy next year.”
Although not every team was victorious, team Matrix members are proud to have just come in third place. “I’m happy that we placed and that we were kind of journeying around North Carolina as a team,” said one team member. “That was fun. Draining, but fun.”

The outcome of the competition was announced on Sunday night in the Daineley Commons. Team Matrix went home with a prize of $100. Team Phinders Keepers left with a second place $300 reward and team Domination walked away with the $500 first place prize. Every team that participated left with some form of consolation, including T-shirts and candy.
